About Us

The idea of Ootulivu was born on Ngong Road in Nairobi, Kenya. I was walking to the gym and got into a trance. The trance was, a mother walks into her 2 year old son’s room in the morning; picks him up from his cot, looks into his eyes and has a quiet dialogue with him. I love you lots Son but I need a break. Why was this trance coming to a man that was not married and did not have any children?

A day before, I listened to a Ted Talk podcast. The guest stated that ideas are spirits; they hover over you and if you do not act on it, it leaves you to the next host because humanity needs it to come to fruition. Upon pondering on this unusual trance coming to me, a man, I decided to act on it. Ootulivu was born.

After conducting 3 surveys with parents situated in Kenya and Canada, we decided to tackle the problem of Autism. Our first service offering to the marketplace is the launch of a Respite Care facility for children diagnosed with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) between the ages of 3-6 years old. Parents of ASD children deserve a break to recuperate and recharge in order to be at their best for their family and society at large.

Our vision is ‘Harmony for all family members with an ASD child in it’.

Our mission is to provide onsite Respite Care to the Primary Care giver of an ASD child by providing After Hours care.
